Synopsis: A crooked insurance adjuster runs a lucrative sideline whereby he conspires with
clients to stage fake robberies and burglaries and splits the resulatant insurance
payouts. Sharon and Angela are the two co-owners of an unscale high fashion
boutique that is a little too trendy - no one can afford to buy anything that they stock.
Facing imminent bankruptcy, Angela arranges (without Sharon's knowledge) for the
Insurance Adjuster to pay their store a visit.
The Insurance Adjuster arrives at the boutique just at closing time, locks the door, pulls
out a gun and a few lengths of rope and directs the women to the back room. Sharon
is understandably nervous, not being in on the plan, but Angela explains everything
while the burglar is busy tying them up and urges her to go along. With everything in
order and looking plausible as far as any nosy investigators might be concerned, he
loads the store's contents into his truck and is off, promising to call the police in twenty
minutes to come and release the pair.

Demo Reels: Very simple - using your own dialogue and the production stills below as a
basic guideline for staging the scene - show how you would play either of
the characters in such a situation. These characters are quite different - one
a co-conspirator herself, and the second essentially an innocent bystander
who is caught up in her partner's greed. Please choose ONE and using your
own dialogue, stage a simple scene in skit format which follows the essential
elements of the scenario. Interplay between the characters is important, so
either play to, and dialogue with imaginary characters 'off camera' or use
stand-ins for the other characters as necessary as long as they don't dominate
the scene.
Most actors have a variety of ideas come to mind in considering how to stage
or act a part. You may do several variations with regard to setting, props,
wardrobe, hairstyle...etc, as long as each is unique and not simply repetitive.
There is no set time limit on demos - to be quite blunt, we have enough exper-
ience to know when to tune out, or, on the other hand keep watching if the
material is particularly well done - you be the judge.
Due to the differences in the characters, should you wish to audition for both
parts, submit a separate demo for each.
**We represent a broad based international audience and encourage those from
diverse ethnic backgrounds to audition.

In a similar scenario for these scenes for the Insurance Adjuster, this 1988 ABC television
production featured Lonnie Anderson and Linda Carter as two amateur detectives meddling
in a case and trying to keep important evidence from falling into the hands of the police. In
order to conveniently have the evidence 'disappear', they stage a phony break in at their
office and hire a local hoodlum to leave them neatly tied up to make the scene look legitimate
for the authorities. Subtle comedy and cleverly done with Linda cast as the reluctant victim
and Lonnie actively co-operating and even giving the man suggestions while tying them up.
